Wood shear walls are a highly engineered structural element primarily used to resist horizontal loads (e.g. wind and earthquakes). Wood shear walls are an efficient system commonly used in both residential and commercial buildings.
Like any other structural element, for wood shear walls to be effective they must be designed and constructed correctly, such that the slender wall element can transfer the shear forces created by horizontal loads to the foundation.
Join our North American Structural Lead, Laurent Gérin, on Wednesday, July 20, 1:00 to 2:00 pm EDT to learn more how you can use ClearCalcs to easily design wood shear walls.
You will learn about our all-in-one design solution that lets you check shear capacity, chord forces, and gives you hold-down anchor forces to compare with your favorite manufacturer data. We will also share how our classic “member selector” tool lets you quickly compare different sheathing types and thickness, as well as nail spacings. Finally, get the opportunity to get behind the scene of our world-class support and how our team is constantly improving based on your feedback!
All registered attendees will receive a recording of the webinar after the event.
